Video shows car erupt in flames in Lauderhill; driver hospitalized

Dramatic cellphone video shows the moment a car went up in flames on Friday morning following a single-vehicle crash on Sunrise Boulevard near the 441 interchange in Lauderhill.

According to Lauderhill Fire Rescue, crews arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed, but the driver —who authorities say was alone in the car — had already been taken to a hospital by a bystander before firefighters got to the scene.

Authorities are urging drivers to use caution.

“Moments like these can change lives in seconds,” Lauderhill Fire Rescue said in a statement. “Slow down. Drive responsibly.”

Police have not released information on the driver’s age, gender, identity or condition at this time.
