Video shows good Samaritans help Miami driver who survived drop off I-95 ramp

Witness video shows the driver who survived dropping off an Interstate 95 ramp on Saturday near the Miami River in Downtown Miami.

Good Samaritans helped the man to get out of a sports utility vehicle through the front window, which shattered on West Flagler Street, below two I-95 southbound ramps.

The man walked away from the mangled SUV, just east of the West Flagler Street Drawbridge connecting the Downtown Miami and Little Havana neighborhoods.

Miami Fire Rescue Department personnel responded. According to a department spokesperson, the driver — who was “completely stable” — was at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center on Saturday afternoon.

No one else required help from fire rescue. Traffic stopped on and near the drawbridge.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
