Video shows moments before teen killed, 3 hurt in Pompano Beach shooting

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – New surveillance video captured the moments four victims scattered after shots were fired outside of a Pompano Beach strip mall Monday evening.

Another angle revealed what appeared to be the shooters firing their guns on foot.

It happened near the 1800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 5 p.m.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies said they found 16-year-old John Zetrenne, of North Lauderdale, suffering from gunshot wounds; he died at a nearby hospital despite immediate attempts to save his life.

Authorities confirmed three other men, who they identified as Emmanuel Francois, 31, of Lauderhill, Nicolas Petenson, 30, of Pompano Beach, and Elijah Gustave, 21, of Pompano Beach, were also rushed to the hospital but are expected to survive.

A Local 10 News crew was in the area around 6 p.m. where trails of blood were seen on the ground in front of the store. BSO’s Homicide Unit spent hours collecting evidence.

Local 10 News reported a similar incident last December, where surveillance video captured a group of people running away after shots were fired at the same location as Monday’s shooting.

Neighbors express that violence in that area is constant.

Authorities have not released information on the victim’s identity and a motive for the shooting remains unclear at this time.
