Police are searching for a knife-wielding man who attacked and robbed a woman in St. Petersburg on Monday.
The incident happened near the intersection of 17th Avenue Southeast and Bay Street Southeast just after 2 p.m., according to St. Pete police.
Security camera footage shows the 65-year-old woman walk past a man, who then turns around and approaches her from behind. Police said he grabbed her, punched her in the stomach and cut her arm. He used his mouth to remove her wedding band and engagement ring from her finger.
The suspect is described as a 30 to 35-year-old man who is 5’9″ tall with a short afro-style haircut. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants at the time of the attack.
