A Villager was arrested Monday after an alleged altercation over the volume of a television.
Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called at 5:52 p.m. Monday to a home on Astor Way in the Village of Sabal Chase. A woman at the home told deputies she had been struck by 75-year-old V R. S.
The victim’s husband told deputies he was in the garage at the time and heard S and the victim arguing over the television volume, but he did not witness the incident, according to the arrest report.
The Sumter County Communications Center revealed S stated on a recorded emergency 911 phone line that she was in a verbal argument and that she slapped the victim in the head.
S was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
