The release of an accident report by the Florida Highway Patrol is shedding light on a rollover crash which occurred this past week in The Villages.

An 81-year-old resident of the Village of Liberty Park was driving a 2023 Kia Soul at about 6 p.m. Dec. 18 when the accident occurred on Morse Boulevard near Stillwater Trail, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Her vehicle hit a curb and rolled over in the median. A side airbag deployed in the crash.

The Villager was transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center. She told an investigator that a vehicle had changed lanes directly in front of her and she had attempted to avoid a collision.

Her vehicle was towed from the scene. The crash caused about $1,000 in damage to some trees in the median.

Neither a second driver or vehicle was identified in the report.
