Walton County Fire Rescue responds to Freeport structure fire

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office and the Walton County Fire Rescue are on scene at Stow-Away Storage for a reported structure fire in Freeport.

According to a WCFR Facebook post, multiple storage units caught fire at Business 331.

Officials said crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire that caused damage to at least seven storage units. Firefighters are on scene to continue conducting overhaul operations.

The State Fire Marshal has been contacted to investigate the origins of the blaze.

Residents are urged to avoid the area as crews work to clear the scene.
