Washington County man arrested for murdering his mother

An Ebro man was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday for the murder of his mother.

The WCSO reports that they responded to a 911 call requesting assistance at 12:30 p.m. Deputies and EMS personnel arrived at the scene at a home on Still Pond Road.

WCSO says that as they approached the door, they heard crying coming from inside. BEH, 37, opened the door with deputies stating he seemed “distraught” and “emotional” while crying. Deputies say he told them, “She’s inside.”

Authorities found a woman unconscious with severe bruising, dark marks on her neck, and she was not breathing. Deputies described busted and cut knuckles, scratch marks, and the physical altercation showed signs consistent with being choked.

WCSO says deputies rendered aid to no avail.

The victim was identified as the suspect’s mother, 64-year-old MJW of Quitman, Georgia.

H is being held in Washington County Jail without Bond, WCSO says.
