Welfare check leads to discovery of man dead from stab wounds in Lake Worth Beach

A welfare check turned into a homicide investigation Sunday night after deputies discovered a man dead with apparent stab wounds in Lake Worth Beach.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) said deputies were dispatched at around 10:06 p.m. on June 22 in response to a request to check on the welfare of a resident near 900 Lake Avenue. At the scene, deputies located the body of a man who had sustained fatal stab wounds.

PBSO’s Violent Crimes Division detectives responded to the scene and have classified the case as a homicide. Authorities say a person of interest has been identified but have not released any names or additional details.

Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-458-8477 (TIPS).
