West Palm Beach Police searching for suspect in Marathon gas station shooting

The West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD) is investigating a shooting incident at the Marathon gas station at 1840 Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, just east of I-95 and across from the Tanger Outlets.

Officers say they’re searching for the shooter who opened fire outside the gas station Monday afternoon.

At least one man has been injured in the incident. A WPBPD spokesperson said the victim ran back into the gas station’s store after the shooting and then collapsed.

The owner of the gas station, Daniel Harris, says one of this employees was outside of the station when the shooting happened.

“There were three gunshots and he found somebody laying out back between the doors… all I can do is be happy he’s not injured but it’s not something you want to deal with right before the holidays,” Harris said.

The gas station owner says they have a camera right above the doorway and are waiting to give police access to the footage.

Police say the victim is out of surgery and is in critical condition.

The gas station has since reopened.
