Winter Haven man dies in crash with parked pickup truck, troopers say

A 24-year-old Winter Haven man died in a crash with a parked pickup truck early Wednesday in Polk County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Interlochen Boulevard as the man traveled north in a Ford Mustang, troopers said.

According to a preliminary FHP crash report, the driver was unrestrained and lost control of the Mustang before it struck an unoccupied Chevrolet Silverado that was parked with a trailer.

The Winter Haven man died at the scene of the wreck, the report states.

No other details have been shared or confirmed at the time of this report.
