A 74-year-old Winter Springs man was killed Wednesday after running a red light and crashing into another car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 9:20 p.m. on Red Bug Lake Road near State Road 417.
According to a crash report, a 2015 Acura MDX was on the SR-417 exit ramp and attempting a left turn onto Red Bug Lake Road when a Chevy Equinox slammed into the side of the vehicle.
A witness told troopers the Chevy had run a red light heading west on Red Bug Lake Road, the report said.
The Chevy driver, a 74-year-old man, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The other driver, a 19-year-old Oviedo woman, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
