Woman arrested for hit-and-run involving teenage boy on bicycle

A teenage boy received medical attention after he was struck by a car while riding his bike on Wednesday.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. in the area of Northeast 167th Street and Sixth Avenue in North Miami Beach.

According to police, the woman who was driving the car initially fled the scene, but was eventually taken into custody.

Authorities said the boy suffered minor injuries.

Police did not identify the woman who they arrested.
