Woman dead after being struck by Orlando police vehicle on John Young Parkway

A woman is dead after being hit by an Orlando police vehicle late Monday.

According to FHP, it happened around 11:30 p.m. in the area of John Young Parkway and Vision Boulevard.

Officials say a marked Orlando Police Department vehicle was traveling north on John Young Parkway and a pedestrian was walking across the street, not in a marked crosswalk.

Officials say the female pedestrian walked directly into the path of the police vehicle and was struck.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was not yet identified.
