Woman dead after motorcycle crash in Gainesville

A 52-year-old woman is dead after a motorcycle crash in Gainesville Friday night.

According to the Gainesville Police Department, a minivan was traveling south on Southwest 13th Street at around 9 p.m.

As the driver of the minivan was approaching the 2500 block of Southwest 13th Street, a woman, riding a motorcycle, was trying to slow down and do a U-turn when the minivan hit the motorcycle.

The woman was ejected from the motorcycle. She was taken to Shands Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
