A woman died after she was hit by six cars on Dale Mabry Highway on Saturday night.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a woman, who has not been identified, tried to cross the highway just north of Sunlake Boulevard around 8:15 p.m.
Troopers said the woman was struck by a Lexus SUV, driven by an 83-year-old Land O Lakes woman.
The pedestrian was subsequently struck by five other vehicles and died from her injuries at the crash scene.
All of the vehicles involved remained at the scene of the crash.
