A woman died on Thursday night after she was hit by a car while walking across the street at the intersection of Hodges Boulevard and Richmond Park, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said the crash happened around 7:45 p.m. when a man was driving his Nissan Sentra northbound on Hodges Boulevard.
The woman, who is believed to be in her mid-40’s, died shortly after she arrived at the hospital, police said.
The crash marks the 35th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 10th involving a pedestrian.
