Woman dies after being hit by semi in Love’s Travel Stop parking lot in Baldwin

A woman was killed Tuesday afternoon when she was hit by a semi in the Love’s Travel Stop parking lot in Baldwin.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, just before 7:30 p.m., the woman was walking in the Love’s parking lot at the U.S. 301 and Interstate 10 exchange.

The semi driver was making a turn, and JSO said the driver did not see the woman, causing the fatal crash.

She died at the scene.

This marks the 124th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 31st incident involving a pedestrian.

The semi driver was cooperating with the investigation.
