Woman dies after being struck by car in Pensacola

A woman died after she was hit by a car Saturday night on Pace Blvd and Gadsden Street.

Police say officers responded to a call around 11:40 p.m. regarding the woman who had been hit.

When they arrived, she was taken to the local hospital where she died from her injuries.

The driver stayed on the scene.

The intersection was closed for a period but has since been reopened.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation to see if charges will be filed.

Police are still notifying the family.
