A woman was hospitalized after authorities say she was struck by a train in Miami on Tuesday morning.
Miami Fire Rescue said first responders rushed to the scene as a pedestrian, who they identified as a woman in her 60s, was struck by a train near the intersection of Flagler Street and Southwest 71st Avenue in the city’s Flagami neighborhood.
Authorities said the woman, who they believed to be homeless, survived the collision.
According to MFR, the woman had attempted to cross the tracks and was spotted by the train conductor, who slowed down the train and sounded the horn.
Despite the conductor’s efforts, authorities said the woman was clipped by the train after assuming she had cleared its path.
MFR said the woman sustained only minor injuries and remained conscious.
Authorities said the crash has not caused any delays in the area.
