The last 24 hours have been deadly on Jackson County roadways. There have been three different traffic crashes, all involving extremely bad injuries or death.
The most recent happened a little after 7 p.m. Monday on Highway 90 near Shadow Bay Drive in Grand Ridge.
Authorities said an SUV collided with a semi-tractor trailer head-on. The female driver of the SUV was pinned in the vehicle for some time before first responders could carefully remove her and airlift her to a trauma center.
She is reportedly in critical condition. The Florida Highway Patrol is handling the ongoing investigation.
