A Leesburg woman was arrested after her involvement in a traffic crash led to the discovery of her suspended license for a previous conviction for driving under the influence.
A civilian traffic crash investigator responded to a traffic crash at U.S. Highway 441 and Sleepy Hollow Road around 7 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
During the initial part of the stop, the investigator requested an officer respond to the scene because 20-year-old JM seemed to want to leave. The officer later arrived and was shown M’s license. Her driving history indicated she was suspended for DUI in April 2023, revoked for 180 due to DUI property damage in 2023 and suspended in Oct. 2023, the report said.
M was subsequently arrested for driving while license suspended for DUI. The Georgia native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $10,000 bond.
