Woman killed, man injured in early morning Tesla crash in downtown West Palm Beach

An early morning crash killed a 25-year-old woman and injured a 34-year-old man crossing a street in downtown West Palm Beach.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), at 3:25 a.m. Sunday morning, a 2021 Tesla 3, driven by a 26-year-old West Palm Beach man struck the couple crossing Banyan Boulevard near the intersection of Rosemary Avenue.

The couple, identified as M N C, 25, of West Palm Beach, and R S Jr., 33, of Royal Palm Beach, were crossing in the crosswalk. However, according to West Palm Beach police Traffic Homicide detectives, the Tesla had a green light when the collision occurred.

C and S were rushed to St. Mary’s Trauma Center by paramedics, according to deputies.

Deputies say C died shortly after arriving at the hospital. S was admitted in serious condition and was rushed into surgery.

According to PBSO, the investigation remains open, but there are no criminal charges at this time.
