Woman, son accused of assaulting victim over 65 on MSC cruise ship

A 49-year-old woman was arrested over the weekend after the cruise she was on docked at PortMiami, authorities said.

According to her arrest report, Kelli Lyn Ryan, of Huntsville, Alabama, was onboard MSC’s Seascape cruise ship when she slapped a victim, who is 65 or older, during a dispute in the ship’s theater.

Miami-Dade police said the incident was captured on surveillance video around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 6.

The ship’s deputy chief of security told police that Ryan’s son, Dylan Ryan, was also seen on video striking the victim multiple times.

According to the arrest report, Dylan Ryan was kicked off the ship at the Port of Jamaica due to his “excessive behavior.”

Kelli Ryan was arrested Saturday on a charge of battery on a person 65 or older.

As of Monday afternoon, she was no longer appearing in the jail online database.

Further details about the altercation that led to the alleged assault were not disclosed in the arrest report.
