Woman struck, killed by vehicle on West Pensacola in Tallahassee

A woman is dead after she was hit by a car Monday evening while walking near West Pensacola Street in Tallahassee, according to Tallahassee Police.

The department said the fatal crash happened at 6:40 Monday evening near the intersection of Lorene Street and West Pensacola Street.

Authorities have blocked off Pensacola Street from Woodward Avenue to Gray Street and are actively working at the scene, as of an 8:45 p.m. post from TPD. The wreck took place near Florida State University. WCTV has reached out to FSU officials to ask if anyone affiliated with the university was involved in the crash.

“Motorists are urged to avoid the area,” the department wrote on social media.
