A woman was transported to the emergency room after a three-car crash in The Villages.

She had been traveling west on Warm Springs Avenue at Meggison Road, on the opposite side of the Florida Turnpike from Everglades Recreation Center, shortly before 2 p.m. Monday when she was struck from behind by another vehicle, according to information from the Wildwood Police Department. The impact of the crash caused her vehicle to spin out. Her vehicle went on to strike a Chevrolet Corvette, which had also been traveling westbound on Warm Springs Avenue.

The woman who was struck from behind was transported by ambulance to the UF Health Emergency Room at Brownwood.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman’s vehicle said he had been trying to avoid a collision. His vehicle ran off the road and struck a palm tree. His vehicle and the woman’s vehicle were towed from the scene.
