Woman who allegedly hit father of her child in face found at Dollar General

A Lady Lake woman who allegedly struck the father of her child was arrested at Dollar General.

An officer responded to a battery involving 24-year-old ALJD at an undisclosed residence around 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

The male victim advised that D, the mother of his child, struck him in the face during a verbal dispute in his driveway. The argument started over him losing his job while she was there to pick up their child. She then struck him in the face, and he pushed her away, the report said.

She went back up to him and started hitting him again. He pushed her away a second time, and she got into her car. As he stood between his vehicle and hers, she put the vehicle in drive, bumped him on the leg and left his residence, the report said.

The victim added D had been physically violent with him in the past. During this incident, he sustained noticeable swelling under both his eyes. The left one looked more swollen than the right, the report said.

D was ultimately found and arrested that evening at Dollar General, located at 3356 W Main St. She was charged with simple battery (domestic) and transported to Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $500 bond.
