A wrong-way driver was killed after he struck two different vehicles in Palm Harbor Friday night, sending the other two drivers to the hospital, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At 8:40 p.m., a 68-year-old Tarpon Springs man was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Belcher Road in a white Toyota Tacoma.
At the same time, a 73-year-old Tarpon Springs woman was traveling northbound on Belcher Road in a red Cadillac DTS ahead of a 35-year-old Palm Harbor man in a black Mazda Protégé 5.
FHP said at the intersection of Beecher Drive East, the wrong-way driver collided with the Tarpon Springs woman, and then the Palm Harbor man.
All three vehicles came to a stop in the lanes of Belcher Road.
FHP said the drivers were all hospitalized for their injuries. The wrong-way driver later died from those injuries during the crash.
