Wrong-way head-on crash closes northbound Turnpike in Martin County

A wrong-way driver crash has shut down the northbound lanes of the Turnpike in Martin County Wednesday.

The Martin County Sherriff’s Office says a wrong-way driver on the highway hit another driver head-on near Mile Marker 132, not far from the Martin Downs Boulevard exit.

MCSO says the lanes will be closed for hours. Drivers should get off of the northbound Turnpike at Indiantown Road and switch over to northbound Interstate 95, which has entry points at Indiantown Road.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
