1 dead in house fire in Port Orange

 One person died and another was injured in a house fire in Port Orange on Wednesday.

Port Orange Fire Rescue responded to a home 100 block of Abby Lane around 8 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the home fully engulfed in flames.

Two people were removed from the home and taken to a hospital, where one person was pronounced dead, firefighters say.

No firefighters were injured during the response.

The state fire marshal’s office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
