Chiefland man dies after crashing into tree in Levy County

A 50-year-old man from Chiefland died at the scene of a crash around 12:30 a.m., Florida Highway Patrol troopers say.

Crash investigators report that he didn’t follow a curve in the roadway on Northwest 110 Avenue and continued straight, veering off the roadway and striking a tree.

He was not wearing a seatbelt.
