Daytona Beach police investigating a stabbing Tuesday afternoon near a middle school soon reported one person had been taken into custody and another was in the hospital, according to the agency’s social media.
The scene was in the 600 block of S. Keech Street, which is near Campbell Middle School and not far from Daytona Beach International Airport.
Officers had originally been called around 3:51 p.m. to the 900 block of Cedar Street, where the preliminary investigation found the victim and a female suspect were involved in a disturbance that resulted in the victim being stabbed.
The suspect had left the area by the time officers arrived, but police soon located the vehicle and took 21-year-old T into custody, the post states.
“The investigation determined that the victim and T are in a domestic relationship,” police said. “The victim was taken to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.”
There was no threat to the community at the time of this report, nor was there any additional information for release, police said.
