1 injured in house fire on Rommel Street in Port Charlotte

Crews battled a house on Rommel Street in Port Charlotte Monday night.

According to Charlotte County Public Safety, firefighters were dispatched at 10:05 p.m. for a structure fire report. The fire is under control, CCPS said. This is near Port Charlotte Middle School.

One person is being transported to a local hospital at this time, Charlotte County Public Safety said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
