1 person dies after vehicle crash in Alachua

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say one person is dead after a vehicle crash in Alachua Monday morning.

Troopers say the crash happened in the area of Northwest County Road 235 and Northwest 157th Street at around 7:30 a.m.

FHP officials say a 34-year-old woman was driving her sedan through the intersection of Northwest 157th Street and County Road 235 and hit a tree.

The woman died at the scene, and FHP troopers are investigating the crash.
