1 person in the hospital after crash traps vehicle under a semi-truck in Citra

One person is in the hospital after a vehicle gets trapped underneath a semi-truck in Citra Wednesday morning.

Marion County Fire Rescue officials say crews responded to a traffic crash involving a vehicle and a semi-truck in the area of U.S Highway 441 and U.S. Highway 30 just before 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Crews found one trapped in the vehicle that was pinned underneath the semi-truck. Firefighters were able to safely rescue the person.

The person was transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
