15-year-old arrested for attacking woman after knocking on door, Alachua County deputies say

Sheriff’s deputies say they arrested a teen boy accused of attacking a woman after knocking on her door on Wednesday.

Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies say a 15-year-old knocked on a woman’s door on Northeast 153rd Avenue in Waldo. When the victim opened the door, he grabbed her by the throat and pushed her to the ground.

When the victim started to scream, the teen ran off. Deputies were able to identify the teen as a boy staying at a nearby home. He was found walking nearby and arrested.

The teenager was charged with burglary with assault or battery and battery by strangulation.
