15-year-old driving BMW hits, kills cyclist in Broward County

Broward County deputies are investigating after they say a 15-year-old driving a BMW hit and killed a cyclist.

It happened on Monday near the 2900 block of West Sunrise Boulevard in the unincorporated Roosevelt Gardens section of central Broward County.

According to deputies, the boy was driving a 2020 BMW 430i sedan on Sunrise Boulevard when he struck a man riding a bike.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the bicyclist deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene and began an investigation; deputies said the driver returned to the scene and was cooperating with investigators.

Deputies haven’t publicly identified the cyclist.

Authorities have not announced any arrests or said whether they’ve determined fault.
