School resource officer ‘body-slammed’ Miami-Dade seventh-grader, attorney says.

A seventh-grader at a Miami-Dade school was “body-slammed” by a school resource officer, both she and her attorney said Tuesday.

The incident happened Wednesday at Myrtle Grove K-8 School, located at 3125 NW 176th St. in Miami Gardens.

Anez Donaldson, 14, said in a news conference that she’s still in pain.

“The way I landed, it really hurts,” she said. “When I sleep at night, I’m always waking up because I have to change positions.”

The teenager recalled landing on her back, forced on her stomach, not knowing at first that the officer had body-slammed her.

She said it happened during dismissal and started as an argument with a parent.

“My client walked into this chaos not knowing what was happening,” family attorney Larry Handfield said.

Handfield said Officer Adriel Green was too aggressive and “out of control” on a young woman he describes as an “A” student.

“This officer picked her up, from the ground, and body-slammed her to the ground and was on top of her,” he said.

A Miami-Dade Schools police report states Donaldson “intentionally struck Officer A. Green against his will by physically pushing the officer while stating don’t f—ing touch me” and “resisted arrest by bracing, tensing and pulling her arms away from the officer.”

“I was just trying to gasp for air because I couldn’t breathe at the time,” Donaldson said.

Donaldson said she was taken to a juvenile detention center where, for six hours, she didn’t get any medical treatment for her injuries, including a separated shoulder and injuries to her thumb, back and neck.

“No child like this should have had to endure what this young lady has had to endure,” Handfield said.

Her mother, Georgina Clark, said it “just hurts so bad that I wasn’t there to protect her.”

The officer has since been removed from the school.

District officials said they are aware of the situation and are looking into it.

“I don’t really want to go back to school, to be honest,” Donaldson said.
