16-year-old shot in Fort Myers neighborhood

A 16-year-old was hospitalized on Sunday morning after being shot in a Fort Myers neighborhood.

Emergency services received a medical call around 11:54 a.m. on Desoto Avenue near Alderman Street, where the teenager was shot in the leg.

Fort Myers officers arrived on the scene and proceeded to assist the victim by putting a tourniquet on his leg. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries for treatment.

FMPD said the shooting is isolated between known individuals.

No suspect is in custody at this time.
