18-year-old Kissimmee man struck, killed while crossing US-27 in Lake County

An 18-year-old Kissimmee man was struck and killed late Monday in a crash in Lake County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck happened around 11:50 a.m. on U.S. 27 near Lake Louisa Road.

The FHP said a 21-year-old Clermont man was driving a 2010 Acura RDX north on U.S. 27 and hit the 18-year-old. who was crossing the road but was not in a crosswalk.

The Kissimmee man was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The driver was not injured and stayed at the scene, according to an FHP crash report.

No other details have been released.
