Man dies after being struck by 2 vehicles while riding bicycle across Goldenrod Road, FHP says.

A 29-year-old man died Saturday night after being struck by two vehicles while he attempted to ride a bicycle across Goldenrod Road in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The wreck took place around 8:14 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Goldenrod Road at Barksdale Drive, troopers said.

According to an FHP statement, the bicyclist was traveling in an easterly direction across the southbound lanes when he failed to observe a Honda Odyssey in the outside lane and a GMC Sierra in the inside lane, both vehicles approaching him southbound. The bicyclist collided first with the right side of the Honda before continuing east into the inside lane, where he was struck by the front right of the GMC, the statement reads.

The 68-year-old man driving the Honda and the 62-year-old man driving the GMC were not injured and remained on scene, troopers said.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at a hospital before 10 p.m., according to the statement.

FHP is still investigating.
