2 dead after helicopter crashes in South Florida

Authorities with the Boynton Beach Police Department and Boynton Beach Fire Rescue are investigating a helicopter crash Monday afternoon in Boynton Beach.

It happened near the Monterey Community, near the 3800 block of Congress Avenue.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area at this time.

Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Matt Oxendine said during a press conference on Monday afternoon that it along with the police department received a call about the crash at 12:24 p.m.

When the got to the scene, they found one small helicopter inside one of the buildings that crashed through the roof.

There were no survivors.
