Two people narrowly escaped a crash with a Brightline train in Jensen Beach Sunday.

Martin County Fire Rescue responded to a railroad crossing on Jensen Beach Boulevard near the roundabout around 6:49 p.m.

Fire officials said in a Facebook post Monday that it appeared “a Brightline train struck a silver/grey car near the front of the vehicle.”

The two people were able to escape the car before the train hit it. Officials say they both refused treatment at the scene.

The road was temporarily closed. As of Monday, Jensen Beach Boulevard at the roundabout is open.
