Two people are recovering from their injuries following an armed robbery at a rental home in Hollywood Saturday morning, police said.
According to Hollywood Police, officers received reports of a possible armed home invasion and robbery at a home at the 700 block of North Southlake Drive.
When officers arrived at the home, they talked to the victims, who told them there was a party at the Airbnb and that several unknown men entered the front door.
The men then struck three people with their guns and stole their cellphones, money and jewelry before fleeing the scene, police said.
Two of the victims who were attacked were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
NBC6 spoke to neighbors in the area who said they want change.
“Nobody likes that,” said a neighbor. “Especially because they’re four doors down from me. But the Airbnb’s are always most of the time a problem. Sometimes we’ll get people who come and go, but a lot of times it’s always an issue.
An investigation into the incident remains active.
Airbnb released he following statement:
“We can confirm this incident was not associated with an Airbnb reservation and the listing is suspended on Airbnb.”
