2 hospitalized after shooting at Miami Gardens gas station; suspect on the loose

Two people were rushed to the hospital after a shooting took place at an ExxonMobil gas station in Miami Gardens.

Miami Gardens Police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the 2700 block of Northwest 168th Street on Tuesday evening.

“Seeing a 330 at the Exxon. 16850 Northwest 27th Avenue. Male shot,” said a dispatcher.

At the scene, officers found two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victims were transported via air and ground to a local hospital.

Officers appeared to focus their investigation at an open field behind the gas station.

Officials said the subject fled the scene in an unknown direction.

As of Wednesday morning, the victims’ conditions are unknown.

An investigation into what led up to the shooting is underway.
