2 people hospitalized after fiery crash in Collier County

Two people were taken to a local hospital after a collision and vehicle fire in Collier County Wednesday afternoon.

North Collier Fire (NCF) received the call for the crash at the intersection of Immokalee Road and Valewood Drive came in at around 1:45 p.m.

According to NCF, a car crashed into a trailer carrying lawn equipment, which sparked the fire.

Once crews arrived shortly after to extinguish the fire, passengers were already out of the vehicles.

NCF said two people were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Immokalee Road westbound at Valewood Drive is now down to two lanes, as crew members are directing traffic.

At around 2 p.m., all westbound lanes of Immokalee Road at Valewood Drive were closed, and eastbound was down to one lane, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
