Two people were taken into custody after a hit-and-run crash in Plantation led to a police search on Thursday, officials said.
Plantation Police said officers set up a perimeter at West Sunrise Boulevard and University Drive after subjects fled from a traffic crash.
The northbound lanes of University Drive were closed from Marcano Boulevard to West Sunrise Boulevard as a K-9 responded to the scene searching for the subjects.
Police later said two subjects were taken into custody and access to a nearby shopping plaza was reopened.
Authorities did not immediately say what caused the crash or identify the subjects. It’s unknown if there were any injuries.
This is a developing story.
