2 teens killed, 2 injured in late-night Parrish crash

 Two teenagers were killed and two more were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Parrish on Saturday.

The crash happened at around 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of Silverleaf Ave. and US-301 in Manatee County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the vehicle, a Dodge Charger, was traveling on Silverleaf Ave. at a high speed.

The car went off the road and collided with trees lining the street. The driver, a 19-year-old Parrish man, and one passenger, a 19-year-old Ellenton man, were pronounced dead on the scene.

Two other passengers, a 17-year-old Parrish boy and a 16-year-old girl from New York, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing, FHP said.
