20-year-old arrested for fiery Delray Beach crash that killed four Ohio residents

Months after a fiery Delray Beach crash killed four Ohio residents, deputies arrested a 20-year-old Auburndale woman accused of causing it.

The suspect, 20-year-old JMS of Auburndale, was booked into Palm Beach County Jail on Tuesday.

According to previous reports, just before 9 p.m. on April 21, firefighters were dispatched to South Military Trail south of the intersection of Champion Boulevard after they had received reports of a vehicle crash that ended with one of the cars, carrying four passengers from Ohio, on fire.

Upon arrival, they discovered one of the vehicles was in the bushes and that the vehicle’s engine compartment was on fire. The second vehicle, driven by S, had collided with a utility pole.

PBCFR says all four in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

No details have been provided on why deputies believe S was responsible for the crash, and drugs and alcohol were not involved.
