A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in St. Petersburg on Wednesday.
The crash happened at the intersection of 9th Avenue North and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North at around 9:44 a.m.
St. Pete police said a Suzuki dirt bike, driven by a 20-year-old man, pulled into the bicycle lane to pass other vehicles. It struck the rear passenger side of a Ford F-150 that was attempting to turn in the intersection.
The man was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the site of the crash.
